Our year-long Community Residency program is designed to equip mission-minded young people for effective and transformative ministry WITH the poor. The next program year will be (approximately) beginning of June 2021 through end of May 2022. The Community Resident lives on campus and receives a monthly stipend to help with living expenses. Hospitality Coordinator, Haywood St. Respite — Weekdays 3 pm – 8 pm
Haywood Street Respite is a safe place for unhoused individuals to stay on a short-term basis following a hospital stay or other acute health event. Haywood Street Respite is a home-like environment where Friends have a chance to rest, recover and connect to needed services and supports. Hospitality Coordinators assist with housekeeping and meals and help attend to the needs of Haywood Street Friends. They must uphold the unique organizational culture of Haywood Street Congregation and perform duties in a manner consistent with the organizational mission and vision. Director of Facilities & Operations
The Director of Facilities & Operations helps to ensure that the Haywood Street Campus is a safe and welcoming place for all. This includes tending to the care and maintenance of the building and supporting the involvement of individuals and groups who wish to participate with this effort. It also includes helping to address safety concerns and big-picture challenges that compromise success of the core programs. Minister of Staff Care
The Minister of Staff Care will manage and support HSC staff to ensure a culture and work environment that reinforces the mission, goals, and objectives of Haywood Street Congregation with a focus on “Relationship Above All Else.” Will incorporate HSC’s core values into personnel policies and staff care initiatives. Will help address the day-to-day needs of the staff while also developing personnel strategy, policies, and procedures. Will collaborate with and support directors/managers. Associate Banquet Steward
The Associate Banquet Steward is an executive chef and highly skilled professional cook who assists Haywood Street’s Banquet Steward in managing the day-to-day operations of the Downtown Welcome Table and its extension ministries. The Associate Banquet Steward is engaged with meal planning from conception to execution. They also play a key role with training and supervising companions (volunteers) to prepare, plate and clean up from Wednesday and Sunday feasts, served every week to between 300 and 600 hungry souls.
