From time to time we host Fundraising & Awareness Events to help sustain
Haywood St. and strengthen our connections within the Asheville community.  We also host Workshops & Training Events for those interested in learning more about our ministry model. See below for more information on these two different types of events.

Fundraising & Awareness

Upcoming:  WELCOMEFEST 2018:

On Wednesday, August 22nd we’ll enjoy our Welcome Table meal “festival-style.” Seven local food trucks will be on-site serving lunch from 10:30 – 2, with live music on stage in our parking lot.  Lunch tickets will operate on a buy one, give one philosophy, with each $20 ticket feeding a member of our community in need, as well as the purchaser.  Excess funds will support ongoing operations for the Downtown Welcome Table. For more info or to purchase tickets online, click here.

Upcoming: Golf for Awareness Friday, September 21st, 2018.

A Haywood-style FUNdraiser for Downtown Welcome Table and Haywood Street Respite. “Fun” is the operative word! A captains-choice format makes this tournament accessible to golfers of all levels. Companions play alongside serious golfers and only five clubs are allowed for each player.  Register online here.

Workshops & Training

We are always happy for individuals and groups to visit and learn more about what we are doing [Please review our planning a visit page].  For those desiring something more like training, we offer the following options:

  • A Welcoming Table. A three day experiential training event that includes an introduction to the Haywood Street ministries and covers topics ranging from volunteer management and fundraising to best practices for transformational, relationship-based ministry with the poor.  August 29-31, 2018. More.

  • Peer-to-Peer Learning. Advanced training for organizations already engaged in cutting edge ministries with and among the poor. Dialogue and learning around common challenges and opportunities such as maintaining staff wellness, positive approaches to campus safety, and navigating relationship in the context of addiction and mental illness.  Will take place alongside our A Welcoming Table experiential training event. (Choose Track B) August 30-31, 2018

Please contact Laura with questions or for more information about any of these options.  laura@haywoodstreet.org or 828-575-2477, ext 104.
