As a way of saying thank you for her service and being a park of the community, we recognize Ann!

How long have you been a part of this community?
I’ve been coming here for about two months. Ms. Mary brought be here. We are long time friends and neighbors and she told me I should come and help out sometime. One day I decided to come and I fell in love with it.
Why are you a companion? Why are you here?
I feel good by coming here and giving back to the community. I’ve met a lot of awesome people! I love working with the companions in the kitchen, too.
Where do you help serve and how are you involved with Haywood Street?
I help at the Welcome Table by serving in the kitchen. I am here for food prep on Tuesdays and serving on Wednesdays.
A story about your experience.
I’ve made so many new friends and met really amazing people!
What is one of your favorite things to do when you’re not here?
I really like to read books. And watch comedies on TV!
What would you tell other people who don’t know about Haywood Street?
The food is really great and the people are awesome. It’s a place where you can come and get to know people. It’s a really good place to be. There are no strangers and everyone is well loved here!
