One of our strengths as an organization is our ability to adapt. This has carried us through COVID with a variety of modifications to both Clothing Closet and the Downtown Welcome Table.  Haywood Street strives to ensure that everything we do helps fulfill our mission to encourage relationships where giving and receiving is shared and human worth is affirmed. We want to do what we do well, in ways that reflect God’s abundant love and grace.
After much thought, discussion, and prayer, in order for us to live our mission and serve our community with the abundance it deserves, Haywood Street has come to the difficult decision to close our clothing closet as of May 8.
We are grateful to all who have helped sustain the closet throughout the years. The many donors who supplied clothing and other items, and all the dedicated and caring companions who sorted clothing and helped friends with a warm welcoming smile.
We close the closet with the faith that God will meet and exceed the needs to fulfill through other resources in our community – some of which are listed below.

PLEASE NOTE:

With the discontinuation of the Clothing Closet, we will no longer accept contributions of clothing and other items as of April 19 at 12 noon. Any remaining items will be donated to another local clothing closet.
The last day the Clothing Closet will be available to obtain items is May 8 between 8 am and 12 noon.
