After much thought, discussion, and prayer, Haywood Street has come to the difficult decision to close our clothing closet. In order for us to live out our mission and serve our community with the abundance it deserves, we have decided to put our efforts into our other ministries.

We are grateful to all who have helped sustain the closet throughout the years. The many donors who supplied clothing and other items, and all the dedicated and caring companions who sorted clothing and helped friends with a warm welcoming smile.

We close the closet with the faith that God will meet and exceed the needs to fulfill through other resources in our community – some of which are listed below. 


Other Resources: 

Clothing and other items may be donated to and obtained at the following local non-profits:

Church of the Advocate:

Address: 60 Church St. “Red Door” at Trinity Episcopal

Details: Shoes/socks provided

Hours: Sunday 2:30PM and Tuesday 9:30AM. No ID required, no limits

 

WNC Rescue Mission:

Address: 225 Patton Ave. 

Hours: Tuesday and Friday 9am-10:30am.

Details: Open to all.

Donations accepted: Monday 1-3, Wed, Thurs, Fri: 8 am – 10 am and 1 -3, Saturday 8 am -10 am Tues/Sun – no donations accepted

 

Justice Services Outfitters:

Address: Buncombe County Courthouse, 9th Floor

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00am- 4:00pm. Currently seeking donations of all kinds.

 

ABCCM:

Address: 24 Cumberland Ave. N of I-240 near Montford Ave. 

Details: Individuals experiencing homelessness can obtain clothing every day the closet is open. All others, once a week. Sign in for clothes, ID requested but not required. COVID protocol still using a “personal shopper” format. 

Hours: M-F 8:30 – 4:30. 

Donations: can be dropped off any day. Just let them know at the front desk that you are dropping off donations.
