A Reflection from Pastor Jody:

Music is an essential part of the way I experience life. I am one of those people who always has a song running through their head. My life is set to a soundtrack. A soundtrack that expresses my struggles, my grief, my fears, as well as my gratitude, my hopes and my joy. I am not alone. Many people move through life in rhythm with the tune in their soul. Each week in worship we have a time of blessings and testimonials. It is a sacred time, a time of offering a part of oneself to God and to the community. Some offer a testimony of their gratitude. Poems and prayers are shared. Songs are sung through gospel, blues, rock, and rap. People offer themselves through lyrics and melody, some with accompaniment and some acapella, but all offering praise to God for what God has done and what God will do. This is my favorite part of the service. Hope and joy rise up and echo the soundtrack of Haywood Street.

Peace,
Jody
