WELCOME FROM HAYWOOD STREET:

UPDATES:

Come on out to this community pop-up being hosted by the Haywood
Street ministerial interns!
This week’s sermon was presented by Katlyn — garden intern at Haw
Creek Commons, seminarian at Candler School of Theology and long
time friend of Haywood Street.
New menu boards brought to us by CCC! We have had such a
wonderful summer with our visiting youth groups and we are grateful
for the many tangible and intangible gifts they have given to the
Haywood Street Community.

A HAYWOOD STREET REFLECTION FROM: CARLENE (HAYWOOD STREET’S NEW MINISTER OF PASTORAL CARE)

When folks retire, they often dream of relaxing after a long career, sleeping in, travel, time with family, critters and hobbies. I “retired” mid-July, and my retirement dream was to spend more time at Haywood Street (and some of the aforementioned activities), and now I am living that dream. Brian, Mark and Michael have been my discernment team throughout the last year, and I am delighted beyond delight that Brian has invited me to join the pastoral team at Haywood! I will continue to “tend the table” (anyone want to be part of the altar guild?), and offer my presence to whomever or whatever crosses my path. I will also be focusing on pastoral care at Respite.

I was ordained 20 years ago by Metropolitan Community Churches and also served in Intl. Christian Community Churches. I completed a spiritual formation program at Columbia (Presbyterian) in Decatur. I have a broad background in many denominations and faith perspectives, and honor all the ways that God calls us to love. I identify myself as a Jesus follower and I see him in all that happens here at Haywood. After years of pastoring and denominational work, I am now called to be in community with all of you.

I continue to look forward to each new encounter and to deepening my relationships here in this remarkable place.
