WELCOME FROM HAYWOOD STREET:
UPDATES:
Haywood Street is grateful to announce its newest partnership with RAWtools, Inc. and Haywood Street’s designation as an official disarming location within the RAWtools Disarming Network.
This partnership will allow us to safely disarm unwanted firearms and have them forged into tools that will then be put to use in our community gardens.
Haywood Street’s decision to become a disarming location is a gesture towards peace, a nod towards transformation, and a step closer to those in our community who have been deeply affected by person-to-person gun violence. To learn more, or if you are ready to have a firearm disabled and donated to Haywood Street, please contact Brook.
Pastoral counseling is available during the disarming process.

This past week, the Haywood Street Fresco popped up in The Washington Post and the Winston-Salem Chronicle and the documentary about the Fresco (“Theirs is the Kingdom”) won “Best Overall” at the Long Leaf Film Festival!
Fresco viewing hours are now Sundays 11:00-2:00 and Mondays-Thursdays 10:00-2:00. Contact April if you’d like to make a reservation for a different time.
It is also this week that we announce the passing of our dear Friend and Haywood Street’s beloved Choir Director, David Farthing. David was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Part of his story was captured here in 2019.

A HAYWOOD STREET INTRODUCTION BY: BEN (HAYWOOD STREET’S NEW LEAD VIDEOGRAPHER)
Hi there! My name is Ben Lochen, Haywood Street’s new Lead Videographer. Ever since I picked up my first camera when I was seventeen years old, filmmaking has been a tool for me to express my creativity and breathe life into the narratives that shape our world. It has taught me to listen, to learn, and to understand in new ways. Through film, I’ve found myself constantly challenged yet consistently rewarded. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I am able to capture the many faces and stories that accompany Haywood’s rich and spirited family. Thank you, and I look forward to sharing a more visual side of the congregation’s mission.
