A note from the Western NC Conference, United Methodist Church:

Churches, be sure to take advantage of this great opportunity!

Theirs is the Kingdom, a full-length documentary by Director Chris Zaluski, follows the rare creation of a contemporary fresco mural inside the sanctuary of the Haywood Street Congregation in Asheville, NC. This is a painting not of the rich and powerful, but of people battling homelessness, addiction, and mental illness. From first sketch to final unveiling, the viewer witnesses the difficulties of this ancient artistic technique while also meeting an ensemble cast of rich, complex characters.

WNCC has partnered with Theirs Is the Kingdom to allow your churches to screen this documentary FOR FREE from now until June 14th! We hope you will watch this film with your Sunday school class, small group, or in the comfort of your own living room. Then, join us on Wednesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. for a LIVE panel discussion with Director Chris Zaluski, Artist Christopher Holt, and Haywood Street Pastor, Rev. Brian Combs!

Find the link to view the film, along with a downloadable study guide here.

We hope you will take advantage of this meaningful opportunity!

A HAYWOOD STREET PARTNERSHIP WITH: RAWTOOLS

This week our CCC camp counselors helped install our new chop saw table on the periphery of our Loaves & Fishes garden. This brings us one step closer to being a fully equipped disarming location, in partnership with RAWtools, Inc.

This video features Mike Martin, RAWtools Executive Director, and beautifully explains how they live into their mission to “disarm hearts and forge peace”.
